People are usually surprised when I tell them I love sushi.

“But aren’t you a vegetarian?”


“Do you eat fish?”


Seriously, it’s almost every time. But, it’s true, vegetarian sushi is delicious. My favorite option is the classic avocado roll.

The trick is counting. If anyone has any tips for tracking sushi, I’m all ears! I estimate one avocado roll as 6 smart points. I also typically get miso soup which is a delicious and reasonable 2 smart points per cup.

Don’t be afraid to make special requests, either. The avocado-topped roll you see below was not on the menu. I asked for an asparagus roll with avocado on top!
